The judge on the Microsoft anti-trust case had a few sleepless nights trying
to figure out how to enforce the ruling. Sitting in his car one afternoon,
waiting for his young daughter to get finished with a dental braces adjustment,
the solution hit him.
The next morning he gavelled the court to order and announced his decision:
"In light of the ingenuity of you techno-wizards and your attorneys, it is
obvious that an ordinary review board would be ineffective in seeing that
justice is carried out. Therefore, I am turning over the administration of this
decision to Dr. Jessica Molar."
A murmur surged around the courtroom as those in attendance tried to learn
who this woman was. The defense attorney stood. "If it please the Court,
none of our experts have heard of this party. We respectfully request
information as to Dr. Molar's credentials and expertise in this form of
responsibility."
"Be quiet!" the judge snapped, "My decision stands. But if you
must know, she's my daughter's orthodontist. If anyone can straighten out
Gates's overbite on the market, she can."
